Dr. Erin Coello is the founder of Hearts at Home (formerly Coello Veterinary Services), a practice she established in 2017 with a simple mission: to help families say goodbye to their beloved pets with peace, dignity, and compassion in the comfort of home. Since then, she has had the privilege of guiding thousands of families through one of life’s most difficult moments, providing peaceful, personalized care centered on love and honoring the human-animal bond.

With more than a decade of experience in emergency and small animal medicine, Dr. Erin understands that every family and every pet’s journey is unique. She believes hospice and in-home euthanasia are among the most meaningful gifts a family can give a beloved companion, and she is committed to helping each family feel supported, informed, and never alone throughout the process.

In 2023, Dr. Erin received a life-saving heart transplant after living with advanced heart failure. Experiencing medicine from both sides—as a veterinarian and as a patient—forever changed her perspective, deepening her appreciation for compassionate care, honest communication, and the profound impact that kindness can have during life’s most vulnerable moments. Today, she brings that same empathy and understanding to every family she serves.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Erin enjoys spending time with her husband, Gaston, and their two sons, Gaston and Max, along with their energetic dog, Reef. She also loves running, tackling home design projects, and making memories with her family.

Dr. Erin is honored to serve families throughout Northeast Florida and considers it a privilege to help pets spend their final moments surrounded by the people and places they love most.
