Dr. Erin Coello is a small animal veterinarian in Jacksonville, Florida, specializing in in-home hospice and end-of-life care. She believes that a peaceful, supported passing is one of the most meaningful gifts we can offer the animals who have loved us so deeply—and she approaches this work with profound respect for both life and death.

Dr. Erin’s path to veterinary medicine has always been guided by her connection to animals. After graduating from the University of Florida, she explored a variety of animal-related fields—from research to dolphin training—before earning her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Her work in hospice and euthanasia is both professional and deeply personal. Having cared for her own senior pets through the end of their lives, Dr. Erin understands how heavy these decisions can feel. She believes euthanasia, when performed with intention and compassion, is not only a medical service—but a final act of love.

In 2023, Dr. Erin underwent a life-saving heart transplant—an experience that profoundly shaped her perspective on time, presence, and what it means to be supported through life’s most vulnerable moments. It deepened her empathy, strengthened her sense of purpose, and continues to influence the way she shows up for her patients and their families every day.

Dr. Erin is especially passionate about providing care in the home—or in meaningful, chosen locations—where pets are most comfortable and families can say goodbye in a way that feels peaceful, personal, and unhurried. She is truly honored to walk alongside families during this transition and help create a gentle, loving goodbye.

At home, Dr. Erin’s life is full and active—shared with her husband, their two boys, and their two dogs and two cats. She is an avid runner and marathoner, often training alongside her family, and carries that same sense of endurance, presence, and heart into the work she feels so honored to do.

She was born and raised in Alabama and now calls Jacksonville home, where she graduated from Creekside High School. Her path into this work didn’t come from a traditional route — it grew from a deep love for animals and a desire to be there for families during some of the most meaningful and difficult moments of their lives.

Brittany has always felt most at peace in nature and around animals, and that connection is what led her to this field. Providing comfort, guidance, and a calm presence for both pets and their families is something she truly feels honored to do.

Outside of work, Brittany is a mom to her daughter, and they share their home with her daughter’s cat, Lily. Family means everything to her, and she carries that same level of care and compassion into every home she visits.

Her goal is to make this process as gentle, peaceful, and supportive as possible — so families can focus on loving their pet.
